One of the best ways to be creative — BIRTHDAY PARTIES!

Boy do I love a good party!  I love picking the theme, scouring the stores for the perfect decorations and goodie bag stuffers, looking on the internet for ideas…it all is so fun!  So, I have a few things to show you, but today, I will just show you the sweets that I made for the “Cars and Trucks and Things that Go!” Party that we had here a couple of weeks ago.

This dump truck cake is an idea that I have seen all over the internet — BRILLIANT.  First, pick a decent sized dump truck and scrub it and then scrub it again. How can you go wrong with chocolate cake, crushed oreos, chocolate pudding and yellow decorating sugar? So easy, yet such a big impact and it tasted delish to boot!:

And here are the race car chocolate covered pretzels that I made — again, super easy.  I found the mold at Michaels and LOVE it — my family will be seeing these again!  My only suggestion is to buy two molds (@ $2 a piece) so that you can make 12 at a time.  Six at a time went a little more slowly than I thought it would.  Also — chocolate and the 85 degree and humid weather did not really mix, but everyone loved them!

More later!  Enjoy!
